Gospel music duo Tagoe Sisters consisting of Twins Lydia Dedei Yawson Nee Tagoe and Elizabeth Korkoi Tagoe has revealed in a recent interview that although they have been in the music industry for 20 years, they have never been earned any nomination at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards(VGMA).
Speaking in an interview with Fiifi Pratt on Kingdom Plus FM, Tagoe Sisters expressed their disappointment at the board of the award scheme for constantly snubbing them.
According to them, they have performed at the VGMAs and even presented awards at the award scheme but they can’t fathom why they have never been recognized.
They further indicated that there is favouritism in the selection of nominees at the VGMAs adding that some musicians pay board members in order to earn nominations.
They stressed their main aim as gospel musicians are to win souls for Christ and not for awards.
