1.Ghana National College
Ghana National College was founded by the late Dr Kwame Nkrumah in Cape Coast on the 20th of July 1948 for 8 students who were expelled from St Augustine’s College by the British Colonial Administration.
A category A school, Ghana National College is ranked among the first 20 academically successful schools in the nation.
Ghana National College has staunch alumni with the name NANANOM.
Current students look up to these past students who hold tremendous positions in the country.
The NANANOM boasts of media personalities like Nana Aba Anamoah and Abeiku Santana and Charlotte Osei among others.
Ghana National College’s beautiful uniforms consist of a maroon skirt and jacket accompanied with a white shirt for the ladies.
The males wear the same maroon jackets with white shirts and trousers.
With a little tinge of green lacing the maroon, it is acknowledged that these colours have been blended beautifully.

2.Adisadel College
Adisadel College is an all-male school with a national ranking among the top 1%.
The school was founded on the 4th of January 1910 by Nathaniel Temple Hamlyn.
With the school being under the strict administration of headmaster Francis Agbedenu AKA Alaska, Adisadel College strongly rivals Mfantsipim School.
One of the school’s notable alumni is a pharmacist and businessman Ernest Bediako Damping; the CEO of the well-known Ernest chemist.
Adisadel boys wear a black and white striped shirt on an all-black pair of trousers.

Holy Child shortened as Holico was established in 1946.
Holy Child is an all-female second-cycle institution located in the Cape Coast Metropolitan Assembly.

They are sometimes seen rocking an Ankara-designed cloth with the school’s logo and name.

Like many of the oldest Senior High Schools in Ghana, This school too was founded by Dr Kwame Nkrumah in 1960 at Salt Pond in the Central region.
Formerly known as Salt Pond Girls Secondary school, they are the winners of the 23rd Annual National Senior High School Debate.
Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, a lawyer, women’s rights activist, and politician is one of the notable alumni of Mfantsiman Girls Senior High school.

5.Wesley Girls
Wesley Girls Senior High School is the oldest secondary in Ghana founded by Madam Harriet Wrigley in 1836.

Member of Parliament for Klottey Korle Constituency, Zanetor Agyemang-Rawlings is an alumnus of Wesley Girls Senior High School.

The Wesley ladies wear a green skirt and a yellow shirt with a small green tie striped in yellow.
