Tim Sherwood claims Ralf Ragnick is lucky to be a Manchester United Interim manager

Former Tottenham Hotspur coach Tim Sherwood believes Ralf Ragnick is lucky to have been appointed Manchester United new interim manager.

Ralf Ragnick was employed by Manchester United to take charge of the team until the end of the season before he takes up a consultancy position in the summer.

However, Despite Ralf Ragnick making an encouraging start of life at Old Trafford Tim Sherwood remains unconvinced about United’s decision to turn to him(Ralf Ragnick).

Speaking after Manchester United’s win against Norwich City, Tim Sherwood stated that United fans shouldn’t expect much from Ralf Ragnick and if they play the way in the way that he wants against top teams he will give him credit.

“I think Man United fans need to relax a little bit.If they play in the ay that he wants them to play against the top teams, then you can give him credit.

I think he has earned the right to be where he is,but I think he is lucky to be Man United manager,I really do.Nobody else wanted him,There wasn’t a bun fight for this guy.The guy was available and they think he is the best man for it” Tim Sherwood told Sky Sports.

“He looks good talking to the press-he spins it brilliantly. I am not a fan and I think it is right to be cautious about it.I have seen managers talk very very well. The talking has to be done on the pitch and we have to see improvement in Man United”

“They are underachieving and I say it time and time again: the art of a good manager is to get the best out of a good manager is to get the best out of the individuals you have got at your disposal.”

Tim Sherwood further disclosed that Ralf Ragnick’s system/tactics will look better once summer signing Raphael Varane is back from injury.

“The key to that is, as he keeps talking about his high press, how high can your defenders defend up the pitch? Have you got centre-halves who can defend one-v-one on their own?

Your midfield will then get closer to your forwards and it makes it easier. Then the likes of 36-year-old Ronaldo will be able to get in contact and will be able to press.

But when Varane comes back, that is going to help him out, because he has got pace.Where that is going to leave Harry Maguire remains to be seen” Tim Sherwood added.
