Ghanaians and some security analysts have criticized the Ghana police over the growing insecurity in the country.
Some have even called for the resignation of Inspector General of Police(IGP) James Oppong-Boanuh.
The public criticized the police after the death of Constable Emmanuel Osei and one trader identified Afia Badu during a bullion van robbery in Accra.
Inspector-General of Police (IGP) James Oppong-Boanuh responding to criticisms disclosed that there is crime everywhere.
He indicated that the crime rate is high in developed countries just like in the country adding that Ghanaians should lower their expectations from the police.
“We are doing what we can to protect the people of Ghana. There is no society in the world where there is no crime…the only place that doesn’t have crime is heaven and we are not in heaven” James Oppong-Boanuh told the media after he visited the residence of the late Police Constable General, Emmanuel Osei.
