A woman has been praised for how she handled a man “harassing” her while she was working out at a gym.
Chelsie Gleason, from Texas, US, was filming herself doing an upper arm workout when spotted a man approaching her.
She posted the video on TikTok and said: “I was just trying to workout when this happens.”
The man approaches 20-year-old from behind and starts talking about his girlfriend, mentioning that “they changed personality”.
Chelsie continues her workout and an overlay text explains: “I’ve never met this guy and he’s been harassing me for months.
“This time I kept my headphones in and tried to ignore him.”
The man walks around and points his finger at her. When he comes closer, Chelsie takes a step away from him and yells: “Don’t come near me!”
He then finally turns around and walks away.
The video has amassed more than 12 million views and many praised how Chelsie dealt with the situation.
“I’m proud of you for standing up for yourself,” one said. “That’s true strength.”
Popular sportswear brand Gymshark also commented: “The gym should be a safe space for everyone. We’re sorry it hasn’t been for you lately. Proud of you for sticking up for yourself!”
Another said: “I’m so glad you jumped away and spoke loudly! I’m glad you’re safe.”
And someone else added: “The woman at the back looked concerned but you did the right thing to stand up for yourself.”
Some asked if Chelsie heard what the man was saying, she said: “I have been trying to figure it out. I think it was a bunch of conspiracy bulls***.”
She later gave updates that she had reported the incident to the gym and said the staff has been very helpful.
“He has been found and has been banned from the gym! Thank you for all the help!” she penned.
