Manchester United supporters called for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to be dismissed from his role as manager following their first-half capitulation against Liverpool at Old Trafford.
With Mohamed Salah finding Naby Keita in front of goal after just five minutes, Jurgen Klopp’s side took an early lead following a missed chance for Bruno Fernandes.
Before the break, Diogo Jota and Mohamed Salah twice had put the result to bed, leaving the home fans full of both disbelief and embarrassment.
Making their thoughts very clear, United fans in the stadium booed their manager and players off the pitch, with fans back home calling for Solskjaer to go.
With many saying that they had never heard such fierce booing at Old Trafford, others couldn’t quite believe what they had seen.
Rio Ferdinand wrote: “What am I seeing…”
One United fan added: “Losing to Liverpool isn’t painful but Losing and Ole staying is more than painful #OleOut.”
With a second saying: “At this point the only thing we should be discussing is #OleOut and #GlazersOut.”
A third continued: “Trailing is putting it mildly. We’re not trailing. We’ve been obliterated! #OleOut.”
And a fourth saying: “Just sack him already #OleOut.”Man Ut
Gary Neville said on Sky Sports commentary: “Manchester United are reacting to a devastating first-half.
“That first-half was nowhere near good enough. But it’s been coming.
Now they have played a good team, they have been torn to shreds. It has told them exactly where they are at.”
