Ex-Lazio teen, Joseph Minala – once accused of being 42 – now looks completely unrecognisable after undergoing a complete facial revamp.
The Lucchese 1905 midfielder, 25, sent social media into meltdown in 2014 as a picture circulated of a then-17-year-old Minala at Serie A giants Lazio. Despite entering his final few years as a teenager, the young pro was accused of faking his age and a subsequent investigation was made by the Italian FA.
Though the governing body did rule that Minala’s age was not falsified and the Cameroonian remained with I Biancocelesti until transferring to Serie C side Lucchese at the end of October.
However, Minala now looks unrecognisable from his teenage days with the 25-year-old taking to social media to flaunt his new appearance. Known for his short, almost skinhead look at Lazio, the midfielder has now opted for a full head of hair – sporting dreadlocks on his Instagram story.
Visiting Guinigi Tower in Tuscany, Minala is filmed donning a black shirt and white trousers, alongside his luscious new locks after playing his final game of the Serie C season. Lucchese were defeated 1-0 by A.S. Gubbio 1910 with the home side bagging a 91st-minute winner to reach the next round of the third-division play-offs.
Having come a long way from being mistaken for a 42-year-old, it’s unclear if the Cameroonian’s dashing dreadlocks will be a permanent feature or just something to tide him over until the next campaign.
The 25-year-old is out of contract in June with Lucchese yet to offer him extended terms.
