An employee hit back at his boss after he used the company’s surveillance cameras to accuse him of being lazy. He quit after he was told his “disrespectful” attitude was not going to get him anywhere.
The unnamed man took to Reddit to share the conversation, in which the boss said, “I was reviewing the cameras from our shift today and noticed that you were sitting on a stool for the majority of your shift. This is completely unacceptable behaviour and we will be discussing it tomorrow before shift.”
The employee hit back, saying, “I cleared it with [Lead’s name]. I have 2 broken bones in my left foot (doctor documented).””
The boss wasn’t happy with the employee’s tone and said, “This type of behaviour isn’t going to get you anywhere here.”
The employee responded that he achieved what the company claims to be “the pinnacle of performance” and “I got grief because I was sitting while doing it.”
He continued, “I’m not concerned with going ‘anywhere’ there. It’s a toxic environment with ignorant people at the helm. I won’t be in tomorrow or ever again.”
The baffled boss urged him to not “rush into leaving”, however, the employee who had made up his mind, replied, “No thanks. Have a good life.”
