Big blow as Ronaldo is absent from Man Utd squad for Brentford flight

Cristiano Ronaldo was nowhere to be seen as Manchester United made their way down to London ahead this evening’s clash with Brentford.

The Portugal international missed the Red Devils’ trip to Aston Villa on Saturday through injury and is now expected to take no part in the game at the Brentford Community Stadium.

The 36-year-old was in Switzerland on Monday for FIFA’s The Best awards ceremony where he collected a special prize for breaking the all-time international scoring record.

Interim head coach Ralf Rangnick will be desperate to get his superstar fit again to get United back to winning ways following their 2-2 draw at Villa Park at the weekend.

Anthony Elanga started in Ronaldo’s place and will be vying with Marcus Rashford for a spot in the starting line-up tonight.
