A couple of months ago, the LGBTQ unveiling put the whole country in chaos. It seemed a greater number of Ghanaians weren’t going to accept the LGBTQ community even if they had been given a century to consider it.
Celebrities who spoke on the issue to allow the LGBTQ society to have their peace faced brutal consequences. One of those celebrities who were at the end of such backlash was the largely outspoken Bridget Otoo.
Bridget boldly established that she is ready to meet Satan on her Twitter page if supporting the LGBTQ community would send her to hell. Well, the matter skyrocketed into bigger warfare that will be discussed in the latter part of this article.

Bridget Otoo was born to Mr Francis Otoo and Madam Agnes Arthur on the 31st of December 1983. She knows the love and support of a big family as she grew up with 6 siblings.
Miss Otoo started her primary education at the AggreyMemorial Basic School in Sekondi and furthered at BompehTechnical School in Takoradi for her senior high school education.
For a school with a motto of “Knowledge, Hard work and Service”, Bridget Otoo must have shown these qualities to have been elected the Girls’ Prefect. She may have also been nicknamed “the headmistress” regarding her discipline and straightforwardness.
For Bridget’s tertiary education, she graduated from the Ghana School of Journalism with a Bachelor of Arts degree. She then went on to earn her Master’s of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Ghana, Legon.
Bridget has a history in Public Relations as she did her National Service at the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority, performing Public Relations duties.
A legit goal-getter, Bridget worked with Barclays, Unilever, Ecobank, and Tigo as a voice-over artist in 2003 which gave her some well-deserved experience when she later found herself in the media industry.
From 2008 till the present, Bridget has made tremendous success in becoming a Freelance Journalist, a News Anchor, and a Broadcaster.
Working with TV3, she hosted the “New Day” and “You and the Police” show eloquently.
Despite the challenges attached to being in the public eye, Bridget Otoo saw the brighter side of every hurdle. She readily became an advocate for Women’s Empowerment.
It is this her thirst for advocacy that gingered the 38years old to voice her stance on the LGBTQ situation.
Never fazed, Bridget put a netizen in her place when she insinuated that Bridget may be a lesbian if she was supporting the LGBTQ community.
Bridget gently said that, of course, she was lesbian and that, the netizen’s mother and sister were her partners. Savage much? Well, she is quite outspoken.
In another rant on Twitter, Bridget expressed how heartbreaking it is for journalists to be outspoken about every issue except their views on happenings at their place of work. She compared the Ghanaian media to that of other countries in the hope that things would change for the better.
Final Words
It is not yet apparent whether Bridget Otoo’s ignorance of people’s negative perception of her was a lesson ingrained by her parents or something she’s taught herself.
All the same, she has been quite successful in her line of work with this attitude that people perceive as being “disrespectful”.
If Bridget has younger ladies looking up to her, some of the attributes they would be picking from her would-be her brutal honesty, outspokenness, zeal for the job, and the hard work she has put into the woman she is today.
