Yesterday, a 15-year-old boy murdered his 16-year-old brother, an off-duty cop, and several others in Raleigh, NC.
According to the Daily Mail, Austin Thompson, the 15-year-old mass shooter, in Raleigh, North Carolina, at around 5pm killed his 16-year-old brother James. At 6000 block of Osprey Cove Drive. Then proceeds to the Neuse River Greenway in a residential area northeast of downtown, where he murdered off-duty cop Gabriel Torres, Susan Karnatz, Mary Marshall, and Nicole Connors.
Austin attempted to murder two more people, Marcille Gardner and officer Casey Clark. Luckily, they both survived although Marcille Gardner is currently in critical condition. A neighbor told WRAL News he saw the suspect outside of a back window in his home. While a woman was running in the same area. Here is what a few of the shooters’ neighbors told WRAL News,
“I heard two gunshots, and they were really loud so I knew something was close by, and then I heard three other gunshots,” he said. “I saw him basically pass my house in the backyard. He had a long-barrel shotgun. He was dressed in camo. He had a full backpack on that was also camouflage. He had to be between 13 and 16 max,” said a witness who saw the shooter. “He was a child. You just don’t imagine things like that. You hear about school shootings and stuff, but to really see something like that in your neighborhood is just …”
It remains unclear what was Austin’s motive for the massacre. The shooter is currently in critical condition at a local hospital.
