10 Countries that hardly give out their visas to other nationalities

Some countries have more lenient visa policies, while others have made obtaining a tourist visa more difficult. There are several reasons why visiting a few countries is nearly impossible, including the following:

• Due to safety and political concerns, several countries do not issue tourist visas.

• Some visa applications are difficult to navigate, discouraging visa applicants from applying.

• Some countries are governed by totalitarian regimes and are cut off from the rest of the world.

Right now, we will list out the ten countries that hardly give out their visas to other nationalities.

1. Russia.

The visa application process to visit Russia can be difficult. If you are an American, you have to answer double the questions in the application form. You must also list every trip you’ve made in the last ten years with details where, when, and how long.

2. Cuba.

If you are American, you must belong to one of the eleven categories of authorized travel. This country is particularly difficult to visit for American citizens. If you do get permission to enter the country, you will receive a pink Tourist Card– different from the Green Tourists Card that is issued to other nationalities.

3. Iran.

Visas to Iran are hard to get, but the process for a tourist visa for Iran has become much easier. Several countries can now apply for a visa on arrival (with pre-approval), but not if you are from the following countries: the US, UK, Canada, Afghanistan, India, Pakistan, or Somalia.

4. Turkmenistan.

Turkmenistan is one of the least visited countries in the world. It’s particularly difficult to get a visa because it requires everyone to apply for a visa. You must have a sponsor in Turkmenistan who can procure the LOI (letter of invitation) for you.

5 Chad.

Only 14 countries have visa-free access to Chad. The rest of the world has to apply for a visa to enter the country. Getting an invitation letter is one of the most difficult aspects of getting a visa. If your visa application is rejected, your money is lost.

6. Bhutan.

Bhutan does not approve individual visas unless you’re visiting the country as a part of a tour package. To get a visa for Bhutan, you have to find a tourist agency organizing a trip there and pay the visa fee in advance along with the rest of the tour packages.

7. Saudi Arabia.

Saudi Arabia has introduced an eVisa for tourists. However, Israeli citizens are still not allowed to enter the country. Non-muslims cannot enter Mecca or Medina without a non-Muslim visa. Saudi Arabia has a strict visa policy because of yearly Hajj pilgrim visits.

8. Afghanistan.

Even before the overthrow of the government, getting a visa for Afghanistan was difficult. You are exempt from applying for a visa if you have a diplomatic passport issued from one of these countries.

9. North Korea.

North Korea is by far the most difficult country to visit as a tourist. To get a visa to North Korea, you have to apply for the visa through an agency. If you hold an American passport, or you are from South Korea you are not eligible for a North Korean visa.

10. Nigeria.

To apply for a Nigeria tourist visa, travelers need a letter of invitation from their hose, a confirmed hotel reservation, a valid return airline ticket, and proof of legal residency.
